the power of gathering

Gathering had always played a huge role in our life growing up. Our home was open every Sunday evening for new friends and family to meet over a simple pot of soup to share stories, conversation and ideas.  Our kitchen table was turned into a boardroom by laying a piece of plywood over the top and adding as many folding chairs as we could fit. Our table welcomed authors, professors, musicians, priests, monks, homemakers, wanderers and poets.

From a young age we learned to listen and be witness to the power of human connection weaved between cultural, religious, and political differences.
